I'm a technologist at heart with a passion for emerging products and early stage companies.  Simple timing put me in the right place at the right time and gave me several opportunities to shape the Internet during its early days.  My education came via hands-on product development and side-by-side work with some of the most innovative minds in software.

Press Briefings, Analyst Pitches and Awards

If you're speaking to the press, pitching analysts or up for an award you've either got a killer product, spent money on PR, or both.  Chances are you have a very talented sales staff who is used to giving 5 minute pitches and responding to tough questions about your product.

USE THEM.  You have professionals dedicated to doing pitches on your payroll.  This doesn't mean you shouldn't have your product managers, development leads or other execs on the line.  Whom ever you depend on to close your big deals should be leading the pitch.

It is after all a pitch.
