I'm a technologist at heart with a passion for emerging products and early stage companies.  Simple timing put me in the right place at the right time and gave me several opportunities to help shape the Internet during its formative years.  My education came via hands-on product development, a stint at NYU and side-by-side work with some of the most innovative minds in software.

Time Warner Reveals New Plan to Drive Away Customers

Anyone who has ever had an account with Time Warner certainly understands poor customer service, over priced services and an all around awful experience. I for one will always be a loyal satelite customer, simply because of my history of pain and suffering with Time Warner.

And in a move that follows their history of complete disregard for their customer base, they have revealed a plan to start charging for bandwidth utilization for their most active customers.

I currently use their cable modem service, because I simply have no other real option. Verizon FIOS isn't available where I live (just a few blocks from the beach), and emails with their executives have informed me that they don't plan on running their infrastructure close enough to the ocean for me to get service. So I'm stuck with Time Warner.

The day Time Warner sends me a notice informing me of metered usage is the day I run my own fiber line down the street.
