I'm a technologist at heart with a passion for emerging products and early stage companies.  Simple timing put me in the right place at the right time and gave me several opportunities to help shape the Internet during its formative years.  My education came via hands-on product development, a stint at NYU and side-by-side work with some of the most innovative minds in software.

MTV Patent from 2002 finally issued!

My primary responsibilities when I worked for MTV related to digital media. Initially our group performed the massive upgrade and integration of Imagine Radio's assets (which MTV bought) into the SonicNet platform. During the past 9 years or so Imagine Radio has been transformed into a large number of streaming properties across MTV, VH1 and other Viacom children. Both the Imagine Radio and SonicNet brands fell the way of the Dodo.

During the integration process we devised a rather intelligent and easily managed system for creating and managing digital radio stations. When it first launched we had quite a few celebrity stations as well as professionally managed and programmed channels. The whole system was driven via the web.

Over the holiday's a good friend of mine pointed out that the patent, filed in 2002, has finally been issued. Follow the Link for more details.
