I'm a technologist at heart with a passion for emerging products and early stage companies.  Simple timing put me in the right place at the right time and gave me several opportunities to help shape the Internet during its formative years.  My education came via hands-on product development, a stint at NYU and side-by-side work with some of the most innovative minds in software.

AT&T Hack is the Pre-cursor to an Advanced Phishing Attack

According to the SF Gate, the recent break in on the AT&T store was a precursor to a sophisticated, large scale attack on their clients. Using the information garnered from the AT&T site, the hackers were going to contact the clients and get them to reveal much more information, such as their SSN.

This is another example of how the phishers and hackers are getting more aggressive and more sophisticated. The threats against our infrastructure and systems can only be resolved through campaigns of education.... But then again some fancy security technology will certainly make a difference.
