I'm a technologist at heart with a passion for emerging products and early stage companies.  Simple timing put me in the right place at the right time and gave me several opportunities to help shape the Internet during its formative years.  My education came via hands-on product development, a stint at NYU and side-by-side work with some of the most innovative minds in software.

Largest Ever Crackdown on Pirated Goods

In the largest ever anti-piracy operation, China has seized over 13 million pirated discs. In the on-going 100 day campaign against piracy, China has closed almost 9,000 shops, 500 publishing companies and almost 1,000 websites have been forced down.

This article from the China Daily earlier this year quotes store owners and customers. The store owners are reporting a significant increase in sales, while customers are quoted as saying they can no longer find pirated goods.

This article from the LA Times sums up the past 100 day anti-piracy campaign.
