    Software Piracy is a Well Run Business

    Software publishers need to take an active role in managing piracy and protecting their products. Several recent events have demonstrated how well organized and structured the pirate's operations are.

    Piracy Earns Florida Man 6 Years in Jail

    Website Owner Gets 7 Year Jail Term

    These two recent events demonstrate that not only has the government and various other agencies started to take action in protecting IP, but that the operations involved in pirating said IP have become increasingly complex.

    The revenue opportunities available through the pirating of software is so attractive that publishers must take active measures to stop them.
