I'm a technologist at heart with a passion for emerging products and early stage companies.  Simple timing put me in the right place at the right time and gave me several opportunities to help shape the Internet during its formative years.  My education came via hands-on product development, a stint at NYU and side-by-side work with some of the most innovative minds in software.

    The Garden State Taxes iTunes

I'm actually from New Jersey so its hard for me to speak negatively of the state. That being said, NJ is taking a step beyond where it should be in terms of what it taxes and how. 7 online reports that Jon Corzine has successfully passed the sales tax increase from 6% to 7% as well as increasing the list of what is taxed.

This new list includes a wide array of oddities, from iTunes downloads to tattoos and shipping and handling charges. So now not only are you over charged for shipping boxes, but taxed as well. Also on this list: armored cars. I don't feel too bad about armored cars, since if you have enough money to need one, you most likely can afford the tax.
